Our cows are excellent mothers who raise productive,
fertile and structurally sound bulls and replacement heifers.
Our cow herd is selected for fertility, mothering ability, structure, productivity and disposition. The females largely originate from the cow lines of Abigrace, Mimi, Blockana, Jolene and Stony.
We challenge our cows to wean a high quality calf, breed back on time and maintain body condition. We provide green pastures, mineral tubs and fresh water; the cows take care of the rest.
Artificial Insemination (AI) is a tool we use extensively in our herd. We breed to a combination of solid, proven sires that have moved the Red Angus breed forward as well as some new cutting edge genetics.
Our clean-up bulls are held to the same standards as our AI sires. We strive for the naturally-sired calves to be of the same quality of those sired by AI. Check out our Herd Sires page for our complete line up.
After spring vaccinations, calves accompany their mothers to pasture. They get the opportunity to grow on Central Nebraska grasses throughout the summer.
In the fall, we vaccinate, weigh and wean. This is part of our selection process. Calves eligible to one day be sold as bulls or heifers must meet our selection criteria which includes a quiet disposition, structural soundness and growth metrics. We maintain a high level of selection for our Farm-To-Table beef program as well. Our customers come back for this high quality beef each year.
